Cleaning Large Canvas Items
If it's made of fabric the Spin Doctors can nurse it back to health! Large items like boat covers, awnings or umbrella canopies can be awkward to clean after long periods of use and are often put away damp. This leads to mould and mildew build up which degrades the fabric and affects the waterproofing and usage of the item.
Our supersized machines and processes can not only clean the fabrics but also restore breathability and waterproofing for future use. We can clean anything from deckchair slings and canvas windbreaks through to air socks and marquee linings.
Our Canvas Washing Procedure
Our fabric washing procedure is very gentle, with bespoke programmes for each specialist item, taking into account degrees of soiling, the canvas quality and weight of canvas (GSM). We typically wash on very low temperatures to avoid shrinkage.
The entire cleaning process is completed by our specialist machines but they are always accompanied and supervised by us. Before the actual washing process, we will spot treat any areas for mould spores, mildew, grease or bird poo and check the item for any repairs that you may need.
