Washing Horse Rugs & Blankets
Your horse rugs are washed according to the manufacturer's recommended instructions. We use large commercial washing machines that have been programmed to give the best results on all types of horse rug, even heavily soiled items.
All rugs are washed using Nikwax, the leading, professional washing and proofing liquid that safely restores insulation and water repellency. If a breathable waterproof rug loses its water repellency, it can suffer a severe reduce its breathability. This can cause condensation on the inside of the rug, making your horse clammy, cold and uncomfortable.
Horse Rug & Blanket Reproofing
If required, we can reproof your turnout rugs to make sure your horse remains dry and comfortable. When you choose our reproofing option all your turnout rugs are reproofed using Nikwax Rug Proof.
Your rugs are reproofed during the wash cycle, to ensure the whole rug is treated, including the outer surface, the inner wadding and the lining. Nikwax also restores the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) of turnout rugs and helps maintain breathability.
Drying Horse Rugs & Blankets
After professionally cleaning your horse rugs and blankets we carefully dry them to keep them in the best possible condition. We don't use tumble dryers though as these can damage the fabrics in modern horse rugs.
Instead we dry your rugs in our custom-built rug dryer to ensure they maintain their original shape and fit. Once the rugs are dry they are carefully folded, wrapped up and we return them back to you, looking and feeling as good as new!
